Friday Evening 19th June 6.00-8.00pm New Moon Chandra Vinyasa Class
A lovely sequence for one of the longest nights of the year.
Slow flowing with particular focus on opening up and releasing tension in the hips and lower back.
This year I will be teaching the New Moon version of this sequence which is particularly meditative and restorative.
Saturday Morning 20th June 9.00-11.00am Backbending Workshop for all levels
Winter is a perfect time for study and research. Practicing through this time is often challenging as the body and mind naturally move into a hibernating state, though the practice during this time is vital, planting the seeds, so when spring arrives, change and growth can happen with ease. In this workshop session we explore simple techniques to help open and release tension in the shoulders, a common area of restriction, access the core in unexpected ways to stabilise the spine and open the hip flexor area of the front body, all of which also help develop backbends so we can truly experience the therapeutic uplifting benefits of these postures.
Saturday Afternoon 20th June 1.00-3.00 pm Pranayama / Breath Class
Winter is a time for turning inward, retreating, meditating, restoring. Connecting with your breath is a powerful tool for this process. During this session we will use the breath as a meditative tool, explore the different phases of the breath and how to develop these, including increasing awareness of the subtle aspects of core muscles connected to breath. Also give the constantly working diaphragm a well-deserved rest and use the breath to create a deep restorative yoga relaxation.
Sunday Morning 21st 9.00-11.00am Technical Led Ashtanga Vinyasa Full Primary Class

During this session detailed information will be delivered through the practice, including interpretation of the opening and closing chants, technical information about the poses, precise vinyasa (linking of breath & movement) with a focus on tristana -the trinity of dristi (focused gaze), breath & core connection.
